The self-implemented method to fix this error is by clearing cache partition of Samsung Galaxy S8 from the recovery menu. Cache loads up into the system and it prevents the system from performing its actions. Clearing cache does not delete any data present in your phone. So don’t worry.

Follow the steps below to clear cache partition in order to fix Galaxy S8 Software Update failed error:
  1. Turn off your Galaxy S8 or S8+.
  2. Press and hold Volume up, Home and Power Button till you see Android figure in the background.
  3. Now you will be in the Recovery menu of your phone.
  4. Use volume keys to navigate to Wipe Cache Partition.
  5. Use the power button to select the option.
  6. It might take some time to wipe cache partition of S8. You will get feedback on the bottom of the screen when it will be done. Don’t power off or restart your phone while cache partition is being wiped.
  7. Now select the option “Reboot System Now”
